In 2014, Berkeley Art Center, in cooperation with the Office of Economic Development at the City of Berkeley created See Berkeley Art (SBA), a physical and digital map dedicated to the visual art spaces across the city. From commercial galleries and non-profit organizations to storefront installations and museums, this map is a testament to the broad and rich visual arts community in Berkeley.
The goal of the See Berkeley Art project is to bring together and strengthen the arts community in the city of Berkeley by creating a collective that will be in dialogue with one another. In 2016, the opening of the new BAMPFA will bring new attention to the visual arts in Berkeley. Our hope is to reignite the See Berkeley Art project with a brochure and website redesign and to develop new outlets for marketing collectively.
